WordPress Site Manager
I am a writer & WordPress site manager specializing in G Suite and Newsletter Marketing integrations for small businesses and nonprofits. I’m a member of IXDA-Phoenix, Girl Develop IT Phoenix, and Women Who Code Phoenix.
Freelance Web Writer
My skill set ranges from copywriting to editorial calendar content marketing management to vlogging and podcasting. I enjoy interviewing business owners and transforming their stories into effective user experiences for their websites. I am also a nonfiction ghostwriter focusing on ebook composition, formatting and promotion to establish authors as thought-leaders. My experience in communications has included stints as a writing instructor and comic book editor.
I currently serve as the Chief Communications Officer of RealtimeSTEAM, an Arizona Nonprofit, specializing in producing popular science programming for the public including conferences, pop culture events, gallery installations and speaker sourcing. We collaborated with Phoenix Comicon 2017 to produce science and education programming with over 100 hours of panels, science guests, expos and exhibits. I produced the Science Interactive Space in the Hall of Heroes with 15 STEM-based organizations and the Edutech Expo: Education Track reception with 16 exhibitors.
I project managed the transformation of a birding sites book into a smartphone app for my local Audubon chapter. I have also served on local conservation nonprofit boards as PR Director and Director of Membership.
I have extensive experience in producing events aimed at building community in the startup sector by serving on four Startup Weekend and three WordCamp organizing committees. I am the co-lead for the Spark Phoenix Freelancers Meetup. I have also managed events designed to generate business leads and fulfill research outreach grant requirements.
When I’m not writing, I spend time with the Arizona WordPress Group, co-coordinated the grant to install the Burrowing Owl habitat at Zanjero Park, Gilbert, and teach about edible landscaping as a University of Arizona Maricopa County Cooperative Master Gardener.
Here I am at Ignite Phoenix #14: Citizen Science Arizona: Asteroid Hunting, Ferret Flashing and BioBlitzes
My talk at TechPHX, Be a Smarter Volunteer with Your Smartphone, was designed to explain why volunteers need to leverage their experience to engage a diverse future volunteer base, demonstrate a few techniques and survey the current crop of mobile apps to save endangered species, feed the homeless, bring non-profits into the 21st Century and help everyone become volunteer rock stars.
